Was always missing the C

On an old afternoon
Who is missing the sea

I go to that cupboard
I look at a ten year old jar of dried sage
And there’s another half full
So I combine the two
And I throw the old jar away
But not the old sage
It looks fine and it tastes
Like the last meal my father made
For me when I stayed

I said it was like
A pantomime
